England trip '13

I was born and raised in England until I was 10yrs old. Then my parents made the decision to move to New Zealand. I am now 20yrs old, and in October I went back home for the first time.

The main reason for the trip was my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary and we were there for 2 weeks! My trip consisted of a lot of eating, drinking and catching up with everyone! Cheesy chips made a regular appearance as did blue wickeds..

The party itself was insane. My grandparents know how to party! It was such a wonderful feeling to have family right there, something that you guys may not understand unless you have moved away from yours.

The trip was amazing, and I have such fond memories. Thank you to my entire family for making me feel so loved and welcome, and thank you to my amazing friends that have stayed in touch with me for the past 10 years. I had the most amazing time and I cannot wait to travel some more!

Here are a few snippets of my trip x

Off for lunch with my Dad. The streets fascinated me and I loved how everything was within walking distance almost!
Shopping in Primarni! Love the Christmas jumpers!
Oooh yeah! Asda!
Liverpool!
The Queen in Liverpool
The 'Three Graces', and also typical English weather!
A Pirate ship!
Matthew Street in Liverpool, where the Beatles where first discovered.
Aaaah cheesy chips! This photo makes me drool...
A proper taxi!

My Nanna and I, off to go to her 50th Wedding Anniversary party! The flash makes me look like Voldemort, but this photo means to much to me to not share!
Whilst I was there I got a tattoo :)

Shellac nails

Shellac or Gel nails are the 'in' thing at the moment, and I expect it to stay that way for a while.

About a month ago, whilst in the UK, I got a Shellac manicure. And it is still on now.

Shellac lasts for about 2-4 weeks, depending on care. Making it ideal! I used to hate getting my nails done, because clumsy me would always chip them! And being the perfectionist I am, it would irritate me immensely!

However, trying to get Shellac off at home, is extremely difficult. You need to soak each hand in a nail polish remover that has an acetone formula. In fact, it is easier to just go to the salon and get them done again... Or at least that is what I tell my partner!

Thanks for reading x

How to introduce yourself to family you haven't seen in 10yrs!

Ten years ago I traveled through the skies and across the oceans to arrive in NZ all the way from the UK.

In 5 days, I am going back on that adventure and visiting family for two weeks. Now, Skype has played a huge part in keeping in touch with family on my Mums side.

However Dads side of the family, I have barely spoken to since we left.

So!
To avoid any awkwardness I have created a few introductions for myself.
  1. Oh hi there, Glad to see you're not dead yet!
  2. Hello, I'm your grandmother. Surprise. Moisturizer works wonders, don't ya think?
  3. Yep, NZ has a lot of beaches, and wildlife, yep tigers, definitely tigers.
  4. Oh you dyed your hair! Looks great.
  5. So your that cousin...
As long as I have these up my sleeve, I think I shall successfully avoid any awkward conversations!

If you have any more tips, let me know!
